The Night Manager producer: Future British talent at risk from theatre cuts

With the launch of a second series of The Night Manager as a tentpole of the BBC’s Christmas schedule, Borkowski faced the task of cutting through the noise and ensuring Stephen’s work was recognised. As an executive producer working astride television, theatre and film, Stephen had unique insights into the programme itself, but also a significant position from which to comment on the state of the wider industry.
Beginning with a piece in The Times, Borkowski placed five key pieces of coverage wherein Stephen expanded upon an argument regarding the essential nature of theatre as a talent pipeline for Hollywood, drawing on his experiences working with Soho Theatre, the Royal Court, and Scenario Two.
With key features in three nationals, as well as a widely syndicated PA piece and two trade publications, Borkowski secured visibility for Stephen in the wider press push around The Night Manager, whilst positioning him and Character 7, his production company, as crucial arbiters of the UK film and television space.
Borkowski also worked with Amazon to protect and promote Stephen’s role in the production of the US-based coverage of The Night Manager, as well as with Premier in UK-based communications, ensuring that Character 7 remained prominent across all communications.
Six pieces of key coverage, including three nationals, exceeding initial targets
Total reach of nearly 400million across all pieces, including 180 syndications of PA interview
