Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page feud with Robbie Williams continues as councillors postpone swimming pool plans
Jimmy Page
Many come to Borkowski to help attain personal or brand fame. When you are representing a rock icon like Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, you have the luxury of their status to leverage, but also the responsibility to protect their brand and reputation. This was the task we faced when asked to represent the Led Zep guitarist in his fight against equally famous neighbour Robbie Williams, as the singer sought to redevelop his property in a way that could damage Page’s Grade I Listed home.
Our experience in handling delicate media situations and proven lobbying track record helped turn the tide in a media war that Williams was initially winning, giving Page the upper hand in the battle to influence Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council. We convinced Page to open up his house to selected press, showing the at-risk treasures within, and allowing him to tell the story of what was at risk if planning permission were granted. We created a lobbying dialogue, placing three lengthy establishing national press articles, a news interview and a film on Channel 4 News. This influenced the council to rule in Page’s favour.
Managed a global campaign with a Channel 4 news film, shifting the narrative around Jimmy Page's concerns.
Secured global coverage, positively impacting the public perception of the issue.
