Channel migrant smugglers to be tracked from space as Britain gets go-ahead to launch satellites
Horizon Technologies
We were engaged by space and aerospace technology developer Horizon Technologies to build brand awareness ahead of an introductory London event for their new Amber™ CubeSat satellite and accompanying Farnborough Air Show VIP reception, as well as ensuring that their part in the Amber™ Space-Based SIGINT commercial satellite launch was not lost due to Virgin Orbit also being involved. Borkowski secured an explanatory feature about the satellite launch in the Daily Telegraph, which told the story of the satellite’s origins in the Reading garage of Horizon’s COO Bash Ahmed, with CEO John Beckner detailing how he was inspired by witnessing the Somali piracy crisis.
The Telegraph piece used our commissioned photography and outlined the use of the satellite for tracking people traffickers and other unlawful activity at sea, highlighting the fact that this was the first time a satellite would launch from British soil. The Telegraph followed up the story with a further piece on the granting of the licence for the satellite to track Channel migrants from space, again quoting John Beckner. Syndication boosted coverage across trade media, increasing brand fame for Horizon and establishing Beckner as a visionary leader in the industry.
