Product placement on moon offers giant leap for advertising
Group Of Humans
As humans push the boundaries of space travel, the moon is an essential destination, acting as a base to reach Mars and beyond. NASA's Artemis missions have renewed a sense of excitement around the moon, laying the groundwork for sending astronauts to Mars. Creative collective Group Of Humans sought to establish themselves by launching 'One Step Further', a mission to take the world's best-loved brands to the moon using Astrolab's FLEX rover as an opportunity for the private sector to advertise in the nascent lunar economy.
Group Of Humans required a launch strategy and press activation campaign to reach internationally recognised brands while mitigating potential criticism from those who believe the moon should be left alone. We worked with Group Of Humans to devise the Lunar Charter to ensure brands taking part in One Step Further would do so with integrity, signing a memorandum of understanding and following a set of guiding principles.
Having set out clear directions for a press launch, Borkowski placed an establishing piece with The Times and seeded the story across various national and international outlets via media correspondents, science reporters, and radio presenters, landing over 70 pieces of coverage and 18 nationals including Sky News, Daily Mail, ITV News, and The Times newspaper. The story also trended on LinkedIn News for over 24 hours.
